How I Returned to YouTube After 11 Years (Without Breaking the Bank)

It’s been over a decade since I uploaded a video on YouTube. The crazy thing? My last video was a sponsored post that hit 10K views! Back in my “Model Era,” I was a small beauty YouTuber reviewing wigs, snagging sponsorships from brands like Hairsisters (RIP) and RPG Show. My final upload was a wig review for Hairsisters and you can even watch it here.

I was in my 20s: confident, carefree, and thriving. I had no problem doing my makeup (or rocking a bare face), propping up my bright Morgan State orange digital camera, and sharing my opinions on wigs I’d wear to the club. And let me tell you, I was always going to the club. Seriously, lol.

But as I got older, life happened. I went through multiple bouts of depression, was diagnosed with Bipolar 1, and stopped feeling like “that girl.” The thought of being on camera again felt overwhelming. Still, I always had this deep desire to return to YouTube. I wanted to help people. I knew video was king if I wanted to connect with an audience.
